How far in advance do I need to book?
The huts are busy over the summer period so best to book in advance - the Upper Caples Hut is far more popular than the Mid Greenstone hut
What is in the huts?
Check out the various pages and images of the huts as they are very well stocked - you need only bring food and a sleeping bag, everything else is there
Can I collect the key a few days in advance?
Yes we understand many people hike the Routeburn before this track so we have a number of keys cut for this reason
I took the keys home by mistake- what do I do?
If you can email to let us know and then post the keys back to us that would be awesome. Please send them to 24 Herries Lane, Lake Hayes, Queenstown, 9304. Include your New Zealand bank details and we can refund your deposit for you. If an overseas account, there will be an overseas transaction fee deducted from the deposit
Will there be hunters in the hut?
The main hunting ballots are April to September - you may find April and May busy with hikers, fishermen and hunters all at the same time
When is the fishing season ?
The rivers are fly fishing ONLy and open 1st November to the 31st May. You will need a fishing licence AND a back country licence and during February and March, you will also need a ballot permit . More information is on the Fish and Game site
